It also reduces fuel consumption. SOLUTION: In a method of forming a slag layer and a molten metal layer in a smelting furnace and recovering a metal from the molten metal layer in a pyrometallurgical smelting of non-ferrous metal. A method for recovering non-ferrous metals, in which pulverized coal and a SiC-based substance are put into a smelting furnace to reduce oxides in a slag layer and a molten metal layer.
