titleOfInvention | Imaging system with adjustable amplifier circuit |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system having a readout circuit which reads a low optical signal having low read noise and higher settling accuracy and reads a high optical signal more quickly while suppressing power consumption. In an image sensor, a pixel string 102 is coupled to a column readout circuit 100. Image pixels 22-1 to 22-3, ... Generate low and high light signals for a given exposure. Column line 68 couples a given image pixel to a readout circuit having an amplifier circuit 110. The column line is coupled to a source follower stage of image pixels for reading the low light signal and a switch 122 controlled by the signal AZ for reading the high light signal. The amplifier circuit receives different common mode voltages depending on whether it is amplifying a low light signal or a high light signal. The gain and other operating parameters of the amplifier circuit are adjusted based on whether the low signal is amplified or the high signal is amplified. [Selection diagram] Fig. 4 |
