abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a battery having a new configuration with less inconvenience and improved. A battery of the embodiment includes, for example, a housing, a penetrating portion, an external connection terminal, a recess, a seal member, and an insulating member. The housing contains an electrode body. The penetrating portion is provided in the housing and penetrates the outside and the inside of the housing. The external connection terminal is inserted into the penetrating portion and is electrically connected to the electrode body. The recess is the outer surface of the housing and is formed outside the outer edge of the external connection terminal. The seal member is interposed between the external connection terminal and the inner peripheral surface of the penetrating portion in a compressed state over the entire circumference of the inner peripheral surface. The insulating member has a contact portion that comes into contact with the end portion of the seal member, and a protrusion portion that is separated from the contact portion and protrudes into the recess.
