abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for accurately measuring a toner remaining amount of a process cartridge or a value correlated with a toner remaining amount. SOLUTION: A photosensitizing unit having an image carrier, a developing agent carrier, a developing unit having a container capable of accommodating a developing agent, and a rotating shaft for rotatably coupling the developing unit to the photosensitive unit. And a detection unit that detects the amount of change or amount according to the amount of developer contained in the developing unit, and the rotation axis is formed by the image carrier and the developer carrier in the direction of gravity. The developing unit is located below the developing unit, and the developing unit rotates around the rotation axis to supply the developing agent from the developing agent carrier to the image carrier, and the developing agent supporting body.
