PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ballistic-resistant composite material having a high positive buoyancy in water. SOLUTION: The fibrous ply 140, 180 is partially coated with a particulate binder 120, and the particulate binder 120 is thermocompression bonded to bond a part of the binder to a fiber / tape surface. While converting to a discontinuous patch, another portion of the particulate binder 120 remains as unmelted particles on the fiber / tape. The presence of unmelted binder particles leaves voids in the composite, which increases the positive buoyancy of the complex in water. [Selection diagram] FIG. 11 |
