abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently photo-cure a photocurable resin composition between a light-shielding layer and an image display member without being excluded from the light-shielding layer, and to cancel a step between the light-shielding layer and a surface of a light-transmitting cover member. Provided is a method for manufacturing an image display device capable of the present invention. SOLUTION: A liquid photocurable resin composition 3 is once applied to the surface of a light-transmitting cover member 2 including a light-shielding layer 1 thicker than the thickness of the light-shielding layer 1, and then at least light on the light-shielding layer 1. The curable resin composition is temporarily cured by irradiating it with ultraviolet rays. As a result, the light-transmitting cured resin layer between the light-shielding layer 1 and the image display member can be sufficiently photo-cured without being removed from the space between the light-shielding layer 1 and the light-transmitting cover member 2.
