PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a high-purity 1,1,1,2,3-pentachloropropane product. 1-a) Ethylene, carbon tetrachloride, and a catalyst are reacted to produce 1,1,1,3-tetrachloropropane; 1-b) the reaction mixture obtained in step 1-a) is treated. Then, 1,1,1,3-tetrachloropropane raw material is obtained; 2-a) 1,1,1,3-tetrachloropropane is brought into contact with a catalyst to obtain a reaction mixture containing 1,1,3-trichloropropene. 2-b) The reaction mixture of step 2-a) is treated to obtain 1,1,3-trichloropropene raw material; 3-a) 1,1,3-trichloropropene is brought into contact with chlorine. To produce a reaction mixture containing 1,1,1,2,3-pentachloropropane; the reaction mixture obtained in 3-b) step 3-a) is treated to produce high-purity 1,1,1,2. , A method comprising obtaining a 3-pentachloropropane product.
