abstract | A room temperature curable encapsulated / embedded material composition comprising (i) at least one condensation curable silyl terminal polymer having at least one Si-hydroxyl functional group per molecule and (ii) a cross-linking agent. A silane having at least 2 hydrolyzable groups or at least 3 hydrolyzable groups per molecular group, and / or a silyl functional molecule having at least 2 silyl groups, each of which has a silyl group. A cross-linking agent selected from the group of silyl functional molecules containing at least one hydrolyzable group and a condensation catalyst selected from the group of (iii) titanate and zirconate, present in the formulation. The molar ratio of the total amount of water and total silicon-bonded hydroxyl groups to the catalyst is> 7: 1, and (a) the total amount of water and total silicon-bonded hydroxyl groups present in the formulation and the catalyst. When the molar ratio is> 7: 1 to 10: 1, the molar ratio of total silicon-bonded hydroxyl groups to total hydrolyzable groups is 0.1: 1 to 0.3: 1, and ( b) When the total molar ratio of water and total silicon-bonded hydroxyl groups present in the formulation to the catalyst is> 10: 1, the molar ratio of total silicon-bonded hydroxyl groups to total hydrolyzable groups is , 0.1: 1 to 0.5: 1, a composition comprising a condensation catalyst. |
