[Solution] Provided is a method of manipulating reaction medium microdroplets of an immiscible carrier medium with a target molecule bound to a solid carrier to effect a chemical transformation. The method comprises: (a) contacting a microdroplet with a solid support under conditions that bind the microdroplet and the solid support; (b) reacting a reaction medium with a target molecule; (c) And then applying to the reaction medium a force that causes it to separate from the solid support and recreate the microdroplets with the carrier fluid.
