Insulin titration algorithm based on patient profile |
abstract |
Devices, systems and methods for predicting the risk of hypoglycemia and adjusting insulin drug dose size are provided for subjects receiving frequent pen injections. A first algorithm is provided to calculate a first insulin dose size based on blood glucose (BG) measurements and insulin injection dose size with multiple time stamps. The risk prediction module is adapted to predict a risk of hypoglycemia based on a time-stamped blood glucose measurement based on a machine learning algorithm and calculate a second insulin dose size resulting in a non-hypoglycemic condition. ing. If the second dose size is lower than the first dose size, the first dose size is automatically lowered to the second dose size and adjusted, and the subject is contacted as the recommended dose size.
