abstract | Described herein are methods of using polymerization inducers to produce dendritic biocompatible polymers from pairs of complementary dendritic nucleic acid monomers in a controlled manner. Dendritic monomers are composed of self-assembling nucleic acids and organic polymers. Each polymer contains approximately 200 dendrites that can be used to attach labels and construct biocompatible signal amplification techniques. In some situations, this technique can be used to reveal the presence of a wide variety of analytes such as particular nucleic acid molecules, small molecules, proteins, and peptides.
