Device and method for delivering dry powder drug |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method and device for delivering a dry powder drug. The device includes a first member coupled to a second member. The first member defines a chamber containing the dry powder and includes a chamber wall forming an outer boundary of the chamber. The second member includes a surface that covers the chamber and defines an intake flow path and an exhaust flow path. The exhaust flow path is fluidly connected to the chamber via the exhaust opening. The intake channel is fluidly connected to the chamber via an intake port. The center line of the intake flow path is in contact with a part of the chamber wall so that a part of the inflow air flow carried into the room via the intake flow path makes a rotational motion. The intake port is at least partially defined by the intake ramp. The intake ramp includes a transition surface that forms an exhaust angle of less than 105 degrees with respect to the surface.
