A method of manufacturing an electrochemical capacitor, comprising two electrodes, namely, a positive electrode and a negative electrode, a separator separating these two electrodes, and a liquid electrolyte in a closed casing. The method includes depositing a conductive polymer by electrolytic polymerization on at least one of the electrodes. Electropolymerization is carried out after the two electrodes and the separator have been placed in the casing. The positive or negative electrode includes nano-objects selected from nano-powder, elongated nano-objects, nanofibers, nanotubes, carbon nanotubes, mats of vertically aligned carbon nanotubes, graphene and graphene derivatives.
