abstract | The present invention relates to a method for preparing a porous cross-linked hydrophilic polymer material. Such a material can be prepared from an oil-in-water high internal phase emulsion (HIPE) containing a hydrophilic polymer. Oil-in-water high internal phase emulsions (HIPEs) consist of two phases: an aqueous continuous external phase containing at least one hydrophilic polymer; and an internal oil phase. Crosslink the hydrophilic polymer to form a three-dimensional crosslinked polymer matrix. Then, the internal oil phase is removed to obtain a porous cross-linked hydrophilic polymer material. The invention also relates to a porous cross-linked hydrophilic polymer material prepared by such a process. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1 |
