titleOfInvention | Implant comprising a structural member disposed around an annulus |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both stability (that is, minimal deformation under pressure under pressure) and space for bone ingrowth in an implant. An implant for use in the spine comprises a body portion including an annulus having an opening. The body portion 102 defines a cross section that divides the implant into an upper half and a lower half. The ring-shaped portion 222 defines a radial direction and a circumferential direction. The implant includes a bone contacting member 370 attached to the annulus, the bone contacting member 370 extending radially from the annulus. The implant also includes a support member 390 attached to the bone contact member 370 at the attachment region, the support member 390 extending circumferentially. [Selection diagram] Fig. 5 |
