titleOfInvention | Polymer dispersant, dispersion with dispersant, and printing method |
abstract | The polymer dispersant is obtained by copolymerizing at least a first monomer selected from a maleimide compound and maleic anhydride with a second monomer that is an ethylenically unsaturated monomer. Obtainable by conversion of a maleic acid unit to an N-substituted maleimide unit, wherein the first monomer comprises a first substituent having a substantially non-polar chain and the second monomer comprises a more polar A copolymer comprising two substituents. In one embodiment of the copolymerization method, the first and second monomers are used with copolymerization parameters r1, r2 such that r1 and r2 ≦ 0.5. This results in at least moderately alternating copolymers. The conversion of maleic anhydride units to maleimide may be partial, for example at least 10%. The polymeric dispersant can be used in an ink dispersion further comprising colorant particles and an aqueous and / or alcoholic carrier liquid. [Selection diagram] None |
