Methods of reducing or removing biological membranes on a target prosthesis or device surface include providing a coupling space or anterior chamber between the working tip or end of the ultrasound probe and the target surface. The space or anterior chamber can be filled with irrigation fluid, transmitting ultrasonic vibrations to facilitate removal of fragments of the biological membrane, potentially containing pathogenic particles. |
