titleOfInvention High frequency antenna with granular or powdered insulating material and method of manufacturing the same
abstract The high frequency antenna comprises an inner conductor or antenna surrounded by and spaced from the outer sleeve, and the space between the inner conductor and the outer sleeve is filled with a granular or powdered insulating material. A sealant covers the first end of the outer sleeve to seal and retain the insulation within the antenna. The method of manufacturing the antenna includes filling the space between the inner conductor and the outer sleeve with an insulating material, sealing the insulating material to the antenna, and, following those steps, the inner antenna and the outer sleeve during assembly. Bending. In one embodiment, the high frequency antenna is adapted to transmit and receive high frequency signals in a high frequency vehicle emission control and sensor system.
