abstract In turn, a mixture of a substrate, a hard coat, a binder, and nanoparticles ranging from 60% to 90% by weight based on the total weight of the hard coat, wherein 10% to 50% by weight of the nanoparticles. The range of weight percent includes a first group of nanoparticles having an average particle size in the range of 2 nm to 200 nm, wherein the range of 50% to about 90% by weight of the nanoparticles is in the range of 60 nm to 400 nm. A second group of nanoparticles having a diameter, wherein the ratio of the average particle size of the first group of nanoparticles to the average particle size of the second group of nanoparticles ranges from 1: 2 to 1: 200. An article comprising: a hard coat comprising a mixture of nanoparticles; a layer comprising SiO x C y , wherein 0 <x <2 and 0 <y <1; and a hydrophilic layer. Articles described herein include, for example, optical displays (eg, cathode ray tubes (CRTs) and light emitting diode (LED) displays), personal digital assistants (PDAs), mobile phones, liquid crystal display (LCD) panels, touch screens, disassembly. Useful for computer screens, window films, and goggles.
