A medicament comprising an effective amount of a fusion protein containing an anchor domain and a therapeutic polypeptide for use in the treatment of disorders affecting the eye, such as corneal opacification or scarring, dry eye disease, and ocular surface inflammation. A composition is disclosed. Disclosed are fusion proteins comprising an anchor domain and a therapeutic polypeptide. Some embodiments include an isolated nucleic acid molecule that can encode a fusion protein. A method for treating a subject having a disorder affecting the eye (eg, corneal opacification or scarring, dry eye disease, and ocular surface inflammation), wherein the method is disclosed herein in a therapeutically effective amount. Also disclosed is a method that includes administering the fusion protein to a subject's eye. |
