Microfluidic chip with bead integration system |
abstract |
The present invention is particularly directed to a microfluidic chip. The chip comprises a main microfluidic channel located on one side of the chip and a bead integration system. The bead integration system is located on said one side of the chip. The bead integration system includes an auxiliary microfluidic channel that traverses the main microfluidic channel and is in fluid communication with the main microfluidic channel to form an intersection with the main microfluidic channel. The intersection is delimited by structural elements located within the main microfluidic channel. These structural elements are configured to advance in the auxiliary microfluidic channel and retain a bead at the intersection flowing in a bead suspension passing through the intersection. In addition, such a structural element is configured to allow liquid advancing within the main microfluidic channel to pass through the structural element and the intersection. The invention is further directed to related devices and methods. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1 |
