PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To describe a semi-solid suspension in general, and particularly to a system and a method for preparing a semi-solid suspension for use as an electrode of an electrochemical device such as a battery. In some embodiments, the method of preparing a semi-solid electrode comprises combining an amount of active material with an amount of electrolyte to form an intermediate material. The intermediate material is then combined with a conductive additive to form the electrode material. The electrode materials are mixed to form a suspension with a mixing index of at least about 0.80 and then formed into a semi-solid electrode. [Selection diagram] Fig. 4A |
