abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photosensitive member in which ghost generation is sufficiently suppressed, a process cartridge and an electrophotographic apparatus using the electrophotographic photosensitive member, and a chlorogallium phthalocyanine crystal which contributes to suppression of ghost generation. And a method for producing the same. An electrophotographic photosensitive member having a support and a photosensitive layer in this order, wherein the photosensitive layer contains at least one organic compound selected from N, N-dimethylformamide and dimethylsulfoxide in a crystal. The content of the organic compound in the chlorogallium phthalocyanine crystal represented by the formula (1) containing the chlorogallium phthalocyanine crystal represented by the formula (1) and containing the organic compound in the crystal is the above formula. An electrophotographic photosensitive member characterized by having a content of 0.10% by mass or more and 0.80% by mass or less with respect to the content of the chlorogallium phthalocyanine crystal represented by (1).
