Heart valve repair device configured for percutaneous delivery |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose a device for improving mitral valve leaflet junction to reduce or eliminate mitral valve regurgitation. The device may be used to perform mitral valve repair or to act as a docking station for a transcatheter prosthetic heart valve. Various embodiments of the device are configured for percutaneous delivery and, in some cases, menstrual delivery. Delivery systems useful for delivering devices to the mitral valve, including catheters, balloons, and / or mechanical expansion systems, are also disclosed. The device itself includes at least one tissue penetrating member. The delivery method comprises partially implanting the device in the mitral annulus via at least one tissue penetrating member. The tissue-penetrating members may be implanted in the tissue in a simultaneous or near-simultaneous manner. Upon implantation, the device adjusts the diameter of the mitral valve using a variety of dilation and / or contraction mechanisms. Adjustment may continue until the leaflets are completely joined and the problem of mitral regurgitation is reduced or eliminated. [Selection diagram] FIG. 17 |
