PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing or eliminating undifferentiated pluripotent stem cells. By comprising contacting an effective amount of a compound with a heterologous cell population or a sample containing or suspected of containing differentiated cell types and undifferentiated pluripotent stem cells, the compound comprises said cells. A method of selectively reducing or eliminating undifferentiated stem cells from a population or sample. The compound is STF-31, FK866 or another inhibitor of nicotinamide phosphoribosyl transferase (NAMPT). The effective amount is between about 0.1 μΜ and about 100 μΜ. [Selection diagram] FIG. 1A |
