titleOfInvention | Materials and Methods for Extended Continuous Flow Fermentation of Reduced Genome Bacteria |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material and a method for extended continuous flow fermentation of a reduced genomic bacterium. A two-vessel continuous flow system associated with a low mutation reduced genomic strain provides a platform for long-term fermentation. Such systems require improved forms of standard fermenters such as probes, pumps, and monitoring systems as well as improved methods for feed delivery methods, culture monitoring methods, and product harvesting methods. An optimized two-container system for low-volume, long-term continuous fermentation to produce large amounts of fermentation products offers significant improvements over existing fermentation strategies. A method and composition for long-term continuous flow fermentation using a two-container type continuous culture fermentation apparatus will be described. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1 |
