abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image sensor and an image pickup device capable of further downsizing the image pickup device and further improving the light utilization efficiency. SOLUTION: A plurality of pixels of a solid-state image sensor are arranged in a one-dimensional or two-dimensional manner, each pixel has at least a light receiving portion, and an optical filter of a light receiving portion of at least a part of the plurality of pixels. 401 has circular dichroism "R" or "L". Further, the image pickup device includes a solid-state image pickup device and a signal processing unit that generates an image obtained by capturing only a specific circularly polarized light based on a signal obtained from at least a part of the pixels of the solid-state image pickup device.
