abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new positive electrode active material and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: A precipitation step of mixing a basic substance with an aqueous solution in which nickel, cobalt, tungsten, zirconium and a chelate compound are dissolved to precipitate a transition metal hydroxide containing nickel, cobalt, tungsten and zirconium. A precursor forming step of heating the transition metal hydroxide to remove adhering water or forming a precursor as a transition metal oxide. A firing step in which the precursor and a lithium salt are mixed and fired. A method for producing a positive electrode active material, which exhibits a layered rock salt structure and contains lithium, nickel, cobalt, tungsten, zirconium and oxygen.
