PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor assembly used in an ultra-high voltage environment. An assembly that includes a number of capacitor elements, a method of arranging and incorporating capacitor elements in an assembly, and a method of forming capacitor elements to help achieve good performance at such high voltages. Various aspects are controlled in the present invention. For example, the capacitor assembly includes an anode terminal to which the anode lead of the first capacitor element is electrically connected and a cathode terminal to which the cathode of the second capacitor element is electrically connected. To help improve the breakdown voltage characteristics of the assembly, the capacitor elements are electrically connected in series so that the anode leads of the second capacitor element are also electrically connected to the cathode of the first capacitor element via the conductive member.
