abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number and quality of biomarkers for identification of microorganisms. SOLUTION: The microorganism identification system of one embodiment provides protein information including at least identification information for specifying a protein name or its function and amino acid sequence information as information on proteins derived from a plurality of types of proteins to be identified. The protein information collection unit 201 to be collected, the similarity determination unit 202 to determine the similarity between proteins by using the amino acid sequence information in the collected protein information, and a plurality of proteins determined to have high similarity. When the identification information for specifying the protein name or its function is given to one of the proteins, the other protein to which the identification information for specifying the protein name or its function is not given is also the same protein. A biomarker selection support unit 20 including an annotation correction unit 203 for adding or modifying protein information assuming that the protein information is included is provided.
