PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monoclonal antibody which can be used in the prevention, treatment and diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or other neurodegenerative diseases. An isolated antibody that binds to amyloid beta (Aβ) protein spheroidal aggregates with higher specificity than to an amyloid beta protein monomer, and a biological sample from a patient suspected of having Alzheimer's disease. A method for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease by detecting the antigen / antibody complex after isolation and contact with the antibody under sufficient time and conditions for the formation of the antigen / antibody complex.
