abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PPE resin composition capable of obtaining a cured product having improved electrical characteristics, heat resistance and toughness, and having excellent impregnation property into a base material. A resin composition containing a polyphenylene ether, a cross-linking agent, and an organic peroxide, wherein the polyphenylene ether has the following formula (1). A polyphenylene ether component A containing a structure represented by the above, and a polyphenylene ether component B having an average number of phenolic hydroxyl groups per molecule of 1.2 or more and a number average molecular weight of more than 8,000 are contained in the polyphenylene ether. Assuming that the total amount is 100% by mass, the content of component A is 60% by mass or more and less than 98% by mass, and the content of component B is more than 2% by mass and less than 40% by mass.
