abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fiber and a nonwoven fabric having improved spinnability of a solution containing a cellulosic polymer, and to provide a cellulose fiber having a small diameter and a nonwoven fabric composed of a cellulose fiber having a small diameter. [Solution] The cellulose-based polymer is mixed with a vinyl alcohol-based polymer having a degree of polymerization of 1000 to 6000, which is 1.0 to 10.0 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the cellulose-based polymer. A method for producing fibers, in which a solution having a partial concentration of 5 to 30 mass% is prepared and the solution is discharged from a discharge hole. The cellulose-based polymer may be a cellulose diacetate polymer, and the vinyl alcohol-based polymer may be a vinyl alcohol-based polymer having a degree of polymerization of 3000 to 5000.
