abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anion exchange membrane having excellent power generation efficiency and excellent durability, and a method for producing the same. An anion exchange membrane 16 provided in a membrane electrode assembly 15 of a fuel cell 1 contains a polymer membrane 17 made of anion exchange resin and Ag 2 O dispersed in the polymer membrane 17. Further, the polymer film 17 made of an anion exchange resin is immersed in an aqueous solution containing silver ions (first immersion step), and then the polymer film 17 is immersed in an aqueous solution containing hydroxide ions (second immersion).
