PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polypeptide having higher anti-inflammatory activity and lower cytotoxicity as compared with an unpurified antibody, which comprises at least one IgG Fc region, and a method for producing such a polypeptide. A composition containing IVIG is treated with an α- (2,6) sialyltransferase and a donor of sialic acid to form an α- (2,6) -linked N-acetylneur on N-glycans in the Fc region. A method for producing modified IVIG, comprising providing a composition comprising modified IVIG having increased anti-inflammatory activity over said IVIG by increasing fraction in the composition of IVIG having laminic acid.
