abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrometallurgical method capable of increasing the nickel recovery rate by reducing the amount of nickel coprecipitated with impurities. SOLUTION: A leaching step S1 for leaching a nickel oxide ore slurry under high temperature and high pressure with sulfuric acid to obtain a leaching slurry, and a solid-liquid separation step for separating a leaching residue from the leaching slurry to obtain a leaching solution containing impurities together with nickel and cobalt. S2, a neutralization step S3 in which the neutralized precipitate produced by adjusting the pH of the leachate is separated by sedimentation to obtain a neutralized final solution containing nickel and cobalt, and the neutralized final solution is treated with hydrogen sulfide. A dezincification step S4 for obtaining a dezincified final solution by separating sulfides such as zinc obtained by the above step, and a mixed sulfide containing nickel and cobalt obtained by treating the dezincified final solution with hydrogen sulfide. A method for producing a nickel-cobalt mixed sulfide including the nickel recovery step S5, wherein the Fe(III) concentration of the neutralized final liquid is adjusted to 0.18 g/L or less.
