abstract 【Task】 An object of the present invention is to regulate the growth of plants, thereby having a bolting inhibitory action on plants, but having a smaller leaf aging action or bulbs than (1R,2R)-methyl jasmonate. It is an object of the present invention to provide a composition containing as an active ingredient a substance having an activity of promoting hypertrophy and having a degree of safety that can be applied to soil, and a method using the substance. [Solution] The above object is solved by a composition for suppressing bolting of plants and a composition for promoting bulb enlargement of plants, which contains (1S,2S)-methyl jasmonate as an active ingredient.
