abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the most efficient and energy-saving method capable of producing a metal strip coated with a coating of chromium and chromium oxide by using an electrolytic solution containing a trivalent chromium compound. A coating comprising chromium metal and chromium oxide has a low current density j1 in a first group of electrolysis cells or a plurality of electrolyzers as viewed in the direction of strip travel and continues in the direction of strip travel. The second electrolyzer or an intermediate group of the plurality of electrolyzers has a medium current density j2, and the last electrolyzer or a rear group of the plurality of electrolyzers has a high current density j2 in the strip moving direction. With j3, j1≦j2<j3, and the low current density j1 is higher than 20 A/dm 2 . [Selection diagram] Figure 1 |
