Antibodies to factor Xa inhibitors and methods of use thereof |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibody against a factor Xa inhibitor and a method of using the same. One of the major limitations of anticoagulant therapy is the risk of treatment-related bleeding, and the ability to rapidly reverse anticoagulant activity in the event of overdose or emergency surgical intervention. Is the limit. Therefore, a specific and effective antidote for all forms of anticoagulant therapy is highly desirable. The present invention relates to antidotes to anticoagulants that target Factor Xa. An antidote is a Factor Xa protein derivative that binds and substantially neutralizes the Factor Xa inhibitor, but does not assemble to form a prothrombinase complex. The derivatives described herein lack or have reduced intrinsic coagulation activity. Disclosed herein are methods of arresting or preventing bleeding in patients currently receiving anticoagulant therapy with a Factor Xa inhibitor. [Selection diagram] None |
