abstract Provided is a liquid crystal display device having an increased aperture ratio of pixels. Further, a liquid crystal display device having a high contrast of a display image and a bright display image is provided. A liquid crystal display including a first pixel electrode, a second pixel electrode, a transistor, a capacitor, a first insulating film, a second insulating film, and a third insulating film. In the device, the transistor includes a gate electrode, a gate insulating film, a first oxide semiconductor film, a source electrode 112a, and a drain electrode 112b, and one of a pair of electrodes of the capacitor has a first electrode. Second oxide semiconductor film, the first insulating film is provided on the first oxide semiconductor film, and the second insulating film includes the second oxide semiconductor film and the first insulating film. The second insulating film is provided on the second oxide semiconductor film so as to be sandwiched by the second insulating film, and the third insulating film is provided so as to overlap with the end portion of the first pixel electrode.
