titleOfInvention | Use of ferric citrate in the treatment of patients with chronic kidney disease |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide use of ferric citrate for treating a patient with chronic kidney disease. Kind Code: A1 Reduce and/or control serum phosphorus levels, increase serum bicarbonate levels, improve one or more iron storage parameters (eg, increase serum ferritin levels, transferrin in chronic kidney disease patients). Increase saturation (TSAT), increase hemoglobin concentration), increase iron absorption, maintain iron stores, treat iron deficiency, treat anemia, reduce IV iron need, and/or Or the use of ferric citrate to reduce the need for erythropoiesis stimulants (ESA). The ferric citrate is characterized as being used to be administered orally to the ESRD patient in an amount of up to 12 g per day for at least 52 weeks. [Selection diagram] None |
