abstract |
A method of determining whether a patient is in need of PD-L1 inhibitor combination therapy. A method of determining the need for PD-L1 inhibitor combination therapy in cancer patients, wherein the treatment comprises (i) a modulator of the HER2/neu(ErbB2) signaling pathway and a chemotherapeutic agent. Or (ii) the patient is undergoing treatment comprising a modulator of the HER2/neu(ErbB2) signaling pathway and a chemotherapeutic agent, said method comprising: a) in a sample from said patient; A step of measuring the expression levels of an estrogen receptor (ER) and a programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) in vitro, and b) a step (a) in which ER is non-expressing or low-expressing, and a program Deciding that the patient is in need of PD-L1 inhibitor combination therapy if the expression level of death ligand 1 (PD-L1) is measured to be increased relative to a control.
