PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a compound and a composition for selectively reducing the expression of an allelic variant of a gene containing a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). A modified antisense oligonucleotide comprising 12 to 30 linked nucleosides targeting a single nucleotide polymorphism site is included, wherein the modified oligonucleotide has a 5'wing region located at the 5'end of a deoxynucleoside gap, and A wing-gap-wing motif with a 3'wing region located at the 3'end of the deoxynucleoside is included, and the positions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 of the modified oligonucleotide are counted from the 5'end of the modified oligonucleotide. 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, or 15, or positions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 of the modified oligonucleotide, counted from the 5'end of the gap, are single bases.
