abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyester resin which has little coloring and is easily pulverized with high productivity. A method for producing a polyester resin, comprising polymerizing a monomer mixture containing at least one selected from tetrafunctional or higher polyvalent carboxylic acids and tetrafunctional or higher polyhydric alcohols in the presence of a polyester polymerization catalyst A. (Polyester polymerization catalyst A): a polyester polymerization catalyst containing a titanium atom, an alkaline earth metal atom, a phosphorus atom and a carbon atom, at least a part of which is selected from an organic acid and a carboxylate.
