Kind Code: A1 An electronic component 100 having a chip shape with six surfaces and including internal electrodes, wherein two of the six surfaces, from which the internal electrodes 110 and 120 are drawn, face each other. The surfaces 100B1 and 100B2 have conductive films 150B1 and 150B2 having a water vapor barrier property, and four surfaces other than the two facing surfaces have the two conductive surfaces 150B1 and 150B2 facing each other. So as to be electrically disconnected from each other, it has a gap region (for example, P3, Q3) which does not have the conductive film, and the gap regions of the four surfaces have a water vapor barrier property.
