titleOfInvention Image processing method and image processing apparatus
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and automatically set an appropriate inspection area in which erroneous detection is unlikely to occur even when inspecting an object whose position is different for each inspection. SOLUTION: Each pixel of an OK image 501 obtained by photographing an object having a first inspection result (inspection passed) and an NG image 5011 obtained by photographing an object having a second inspection result (inspection failure). Based on the feature amount of, the discriminating power value discriminating power value 505 (importance value) for acquiring the discriminating power value for discriminating the first and second inspection results of each pixel is acquired. Of each pixel, an area including a pixel for which the discriminating power value exceeding a specific condition, for example, a predetermined threshold value is acquired is generated as an inspection area 508 to be subjected to image processing. A brightness value, a hue value, or the like can be used as the above-described feature amount, and the discriminating power value (importance value) is calculated based on the distribution mode of these feature amounts.
