PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for lubricating an internal combustion engine. The present invention is a method of lubricating an internal combustion engine including at least one of a crankcase, a gear and a wet clutch, the method comprising: (a) applying to at least one of the crankcase, the gear and the wet clutch. An oil of lubricating viscosity; and (b) providing a lubricating composition containing a friction modifying additive that is the reaction product of a hydrocarbyl-substituted succinic anhydride and an acid-functionalized amine compound. It would be advantageous to have a method of lubricating an internal combustion engine having at least one of a crankcase, a gear, a transmission system and a wet clutch while imparting friction control. The present invention provides a method of lubricating an internal combustion engine while imparting friction control. [Selection diagram] None |
