abstract | Kind Code: A1 Compounds and methods of use thereof for treating obesity. A composition containing withaferin A or an analog thereof and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or prodrug thereof as a weight-loss agent, and a method of using the same. In some embodiments, the compound is Withaferin A. In another embodiment, the compound is a Michael addition product of Withaferin A. The present compound is a little obese, obese or morbidly obese in order to induce weight loss, to reduce body fat in an obese, obese or morbidly obese patient, in a slightly obese, obese or morbidly obese patient.
