titleOfInvention Manufacturing method of liquid crystal display element
abstract An object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element which can sufficiently align liquid crystal molecules at an appropriate pretilt angle in a relatively short time. A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element according to the present invention is a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element including a pair of substrates each having an electrode and a vertically aligned liquid crystal layer disposed between the substrates. This method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display element includes a step of arranging a pair of substrates such that electrodes face each other via a liquid crystal composition containing liquid crystal molecules and a polymerizable monomer, and applying a voltage applied to the liquid crystal composition. Holding the first voltage higher than the threshold voltage of the liquid crystal molecules, and reducing the voltage to a second voltage higher than the threshold voltage but lower than the first voltage, and then holding the voltage at the second voltage. And irradiating the liquid crystal composition with an active energy ray to polymerize the polymerizable monomer to obtain a liquid crystal layer. [Selection diagram] FIG.
