A recombinant protein capable of binding to complement factor H (CFH) and inducing improved binding of C3d and C3b. A recombinant protein that binds to complement factor H (CFH), thereby inducing enhanced C3d and C3b binding by bound CFH as compared to unbound CFH, wherein the recombinant protein is a wild-type protein. A protein that binds to type CFH and can form a complex with a KD of 1 × 10 −13 M or less and is derived from Streptococcus pneumoniae surface protein C (PspC). [Selection diagram] Fig. 1 |
